What is this Cardboard Box Office?

Welcome to Cardboard Box Office – our homemade creations of some of your favorite scenes from film and TV built from some of our favorite domestic junk.

The project began after finding that we had accumulated both a lot of cardboard boxes (due to moving to a new country) and a baby (due to giving birth). With our social lives drastically altered we decided to find a way to make some of those housebound weekends a little more fun.

The costumes, props, and sets in Cardboard Box Office are created entirely out of everyday household items, toys, cardboard, and three individuals slowly losing their sanity. Enjoy!

  1. this is just super 🙂 and in cradle of doom you can actually really see your baby enjoys this a lot too 🙂 I just love it . And congrats for being so creative

  2. Great job. I think Orson will have a star on Hollywood boulevard.
    Thanks for this.
Merry Christmas and happy new year from France.

  3. How cool is this. Baby Orsen you are a lucky kid and I predict you are going to have a great life.
You two are some awesome parents. I wish I was your kid, your 53 year old kid to be exact. My parents although I love them just were not into anything remotely like this. They just wanted us to hurry and grow up.

  5. What a fun family! This would be my dream project for my daughter’s future family. She and I are such cinemaphiles that we converse in movie dialogue already. This would be our cup of tea with sugar on top! Your photos are so neat – keep up the fun and happy family!

  6. Been missing the baby days. First time in 20 years I am childless and alone on Christmas. Thanks for the smiles! So much fun, I look forward to more. 🙂

  7. Adorei, amei, recomendei e sobretudo ri imenso nesta vespera de Natal. Parabéns e que continuem a divertirem-nos e a divertirem-se com o vosso bébé Obrigada 🙂

I adored, I loved, I recommended and above all i laugh a lot in this Christmas Eve. Congratulations and continue amusing us and enjoy your baby Thank you 🙂

  8. AWESOME! We love it. We’re geeks, so the sci-fi ones (Apollo 13, Star Wars, Alien) are particularly appealing, but *all* of them are excellent. Best of luck to you in the best movie adventure of them all – parenthood. (Don’t worry, Orson. Something tells me they’re gonna do a *fantastic* job! 🙂 Merry Christmas from Texas!

  9. Dear Lilly and Leon, You two are great cardboard artists! And even better parents. Oscar is a lucky kid. Thanks for sharing your world with all of us.

  10. Fantastic! Also have a young baby and wish I had the energy and creativity to create something like this. You guys rock – keep it up!

  11. Love what you’ve done! For what it’s worth, my mom was creative with her 3 children, born exactly 4 years and 2 weeks apart, from first to third. (I came around 7 years after them) Some of the best, most repeated family stories involve my mom’s nuttiness. I’ll share just one: Remember the paper mustaches that had little hook-like appendages that went in the nostrils for holding the mustache on? My dad had grown a mustache at my mom’s request. To tell him she didn’t like it and wanted him to shave it, one day he came home from school to all 3 kids, including the youngest who was just an infant, and my mom, all wearing little mustaches! He went right in and shaved it off! (Ironically enough, after he shaved it off she decided she liked it and made him grow it back)
